Fiction

The Hidden Masters and the Unspeakable Evil is the first in a series of occult comic novels featuring Nigel, Wayne and Clint. In each adventure they team up with a fourth friend to save the world through arcane knowledge, lots of cheap alcohol and too many joints. In their first adventure our heroes travel to Blackpool, one of England’s decaying northern holiday resorts when they discover a plot to turn the place into a seedy, tacky and depraved town.

The paperback is available on all major book websites. The ebook is currently on Amazon Kindle Unlimited so if you have an account you can download it for free and lend it to a friend. You can read more about the book here including reviews from Goodreads.

The second book in the series, provisionally titled The Hidden Masters andf the Techno Knights is in the pipeline and features our heroes travelling west where they encounter an end of the world cult, search for a book and fall off a mountain.

Don't like Amazon?

As an author just breaking into the market I have to be on Amazon, however, I understand that some people are allergic to Amazon for all sorts of good reasons. My books are also available from other sellers, online or on the high street. Simply walk into your favourite independent book shop and quote the paperback ISBN and they will be happy to place an order for you. If you don't like to leave reviews on Amazon then Goodreads is another great way of telling people about my books.

Non Fiction

In SatNav We Trust is a travelogue about touring the 39 Historic Counties of England. These are those English counties that include the ones that have disappeared in all the boundary changes such as Rutland, Westmorland and places like Yorkshire that have been divided up into smaller units. The tour takes the form of a camping trip, one county a day, with no plan other than a rough anti-clockwise direction of travel up the east coast. The journey deals with the practicalities of being on the road but turns into an examination of the differences and interactions of rational and non-rational ways of looking at the world. It asks if the scientific perspective is really more valuable than a religious or philosophical perspective or is a religious perspective really more satisfying than a scientific one. The places along the way, castles and cathedrals, feats of engineering and locations from ancient history serve as a backdrop and stimulus for these discussions.
